There was some more discussion about changing the due date. Madison seems to be measuring a week earlier than we thought. I may only be 19 weeks along rather than 20. My next midwife appointment is Friday and we'll discuss it more then.
Afterward, we went up to Labor and Delivery and got a tour of the birthing center. It is insanely nice. The naval hospital in Oak Harbor where Abby was born had 3 delivery rooms and a couple of shared postpartum rooms. Our hospital here has 23 postpartum/recovery rooms--all private--and they have 7 delivery rooms. Each delivery room is 300 square feet with 2 bathrooms and a couch that pulls out to a single day bed! Insane! It is SO nice! The birthing center takes up the whole fifth floor. What a difference from the little naval hospital on Whidbey Island! As for a water birth (something I am planing on), they bring in an inflatable birthing tub. No problem though--the delivery room is huge enough for the birthing tub and another 12 people or more! They said Abby can be in there as much or as little as she wants. This is awesome, because we don't have a plan yet for who will be with her while I'm in labor though. At least she won't be torn away from me until Madison is born. We are so grateful to have such facilities available to us.
I am so excited to watch my belly grow and get to know the little girl that's in me. I cannot wait for Matt and Abby to be able to feel her moving and kicking. What a joy it will be to have another little girl at home for Abby to play with and love on. TWO princesses! We will have TWO princesses! Thank You Lord! Thank You for blessing us in this way!
Here's our little Madison Lucille...
Madison's head and her arm reaching down to her knee, then her leg and foot.
In the top left you can see her feet, then follow her legs down to the bottom right of the screen where they disappear toward her body.
One of her feet, toes and all...
Here's a face shot and belly shot of Maddie, and maybe a couple elbows, too.
Her beautiful spine and head...what a beautiful creation!
Here's the money shot! Yup...right there toward the bottom (no pun intended) are three lines, or as we were told in Washington...a hamburger. That means a girl!
